Ice Age Trail Alliance's Annual Conference and Membership Meeting
We are pleased to announce that our 2010 Annual Conference and Membership Meeting will take place April 22nd–25th, 2010 in Janesville, Wisconsin. This area has been “on our radar” to host our Annual Conference for some time. The local Rock County Chapter has expressed great enthusiasm at the opportunity to host the event and showcase some beautiful sections of the Ice Age Trail in southern Wisconsin.
The host facility will be the Janesville Rotary Botanical Gardens. They have a wonderful conference facility and beautiful grounds that will serve as a great host site for the four days we will be in Janesville.
Additional information regarding lodging, camping and dorm facilities will be made available in late 2009 at www.iceagetrail.org and in Mammoth Tales. |

Statewide trail-building event, Polk County, northwestern Wisconsin
Ice Age Trail volunteers from near and far will be gathering at the following statewide trail-building event. We'd be thrilled to see you there!
Straight Lake Segment, Polk County Ice Age Trail Atlas Map 3f (click here to see a project area map)
The new Straight Lake Segment that we started in 2009 is destined to become a signature experience for Ice Age National Scenic Trail users. For this event, our usual strong effort will receive a boost from AmeriCorps workers and Volunteer Vacationers from the American Hiking Society.
Come on out for all or any part of the event...whatever amount of time your schedule permits is valuable to us. We'll feed you and, if you are interested in helping for multiple days, provide a place to camp close to the work site.
Participants interested in trail building will receive hands-on training in advanced trail construction techniques by volunteer crew leaders as part of our Mobile Skills Crew program. No experience is necessary! If trail building isn't your cup of tea, we have plenty of other roles for you, including volunteer support and event publicity.
Please click here for pre-registration and project details. Pre-registration is key to helping us plan the project with your needs in mind.
Give us a call (800-227-0046) or send us an email (info@iceagetrail.org) with any additional questions about the project. |

The hike is 3.5 miles in and 3.5 out with an elevation gain of about 600 ft. Tom is also preparing for a hike to the summit of Kilimanjaro on his 75th birthday early next year.
