Underdown Segment
Ice Age Trail Atlas Map 29f; Ice Age Trail Companion Guide p. 233
The invasive plant, garlic mustard, has invaded the Underdown Recreation Area in Lincoln County. It has not yet been found directly on the Ice Age Trail segment that runs through the Rec Area, but at least three patches have been spotted at or around the large parking lot on Copper Lake Road. Hikers planning a trek through this segment should be able to identify and in turn report garlic mustard sightings to the Lincoln County Forestry Department (715-536-0327). Parts of other trails in the Rec Area have been closed. (05/20/08)

Averill-Kelly Creek Wilderness Segment

Ice Age Trail Atlas Map 27f and 28f; Ice Age Trail Companion Guide p. 239
There is absolutely no parking in front of the trailhead gate on the east end of the Averill-Kelly Creek Wilderness Segment on Burma Road. This is private property and the landowner need access through this gate! Also, a portion of this segment, formerly known as the Wau-Mo Segment, was clear-cut east of the New Wood River a couple years ago. The Ice Age Trail route through this area has been re-blazed but the ford of the river may be difficult to see. (05/29/08)

Camp 27 Segment
Ice Age Trail Atlas Map 26f; Ice Age Trail Companion Guide p. 242
The well at the old Camp 27 logging camp site is no longer in operation. It will be officially closed and filled in during the summer of 2008 per a DNR directive. (07/14/08)
