Washington/Ozaukee County Chapter
Loew Lake Segment
“No Parking” signs have been installed on the Washington County side of County Hwy Q in the Monches area. Roadside parking is available on Hwy E in Waukesha County or 0.5 miles east on Hwy Q at the DNR parking lot.
Kewaskum Segment
The trail between US Hwy 45 and Sunburst Ski Area on Prospect Road is currently under construction. It can be walked but a new boardwalk over a very wet area and blazes will not be completed until early summer 2008. Check the website calendar for work dates.
South Kewaskum Segment
There is a low area in the middle of this segment that fills with water during the spring melt or after heavy rains. Hikers can do a difficult bushwhack around the area to the south or road walk around the segment completely.
Cedar Lakes Segment
Trail planning continues in this area to link the existing loop trail with County Hwy NN where a parking lot for hikers will be built in spring 2008. The area is open to the public but currently the Ice Age Trail route is only flagged so travel carefully. Trail work here is scheduled for summer and fall 2008.
