Waupaca County Chapter The Portage and Waupaca County chapters were formed in 1986 and 1987, respectively. The two chapters share the care of the Ice Age Trail that crosses back and forth into each county. The chapters get assistance from the county parks departments, Fox Valley Sierra Club, Hartman Creek State Park and local landowners. Both chapters send out newsletters, offer special hikes and work closely with landowners to obtain and maintain Trail privileges. Every fall the two chapters join for their annual Fall Hike.
