Our restored prairies and savannas require much attention, especially in their early years, to rid them of wild parsnip, yellow and white sweet clover, burdock, mullein, curly dock, Japanese hedge parsley and other invading exotics.  There may be some infestations suitable for power brushcutters as well as hand work.  Depending on need, we may direct some of our efforts at cutting sumac with brushcutters  and mowers.  Bring sturdy boots or shoes, long-sleeved shirt, long pants, gloves, brimmed hat, water, sun screen and insect repellant (for chiggers and perhaps mosquitoes).  If operating power equipment, bring eye and ear protection as well.  Meet at new lot.
