Dane/Lodi Trail Reroute Construction, Lodi Marsh SWA
October 21 @ 9:00 am
We need your help to move part of the eastern Lodi Marsh trail off its steep and rutted present path to a gentler route that will withstand wear and weather. This is one of a series of Saturday workdays this fall on a project that will teach you the fine points of trail building or enhance your skills if you’ve built trail before. Most of our work will be done with hand tools, which we will supply and show you how to use safely and effectively. We will meet at the Twin Pines lot (map/directions) on Lodi Springfield Road.
Contact the leader in advance to learn more about the work in general and the specific work planned for this day.
Sturdy boots or shoes, socks, long sleeved shirt, long pants and work gloves are required. A hat, sunscreen and insect repellant are recommended, and raingear may be advisable. We will have a few pairs of work gloves to loan. Bring a water bottle(s). Bring a lunch if you plan to stay into the afternoon.
This big project–1800 feet of new trail–is a joint effort by the Dane County and Lodi Valley chapters. Please help us make it happen!
