Lapham Peak Evening Hike and Bonfire/with Optional Camping

March 18, 2017 @ 5:00 pm

Free

Please join us for an evening hike on the Ice Age and Lapham Peak hiking trails. Enjoy the scenic views and companionship around a bonfire. We will hike 3-4 miles (with a few challenging hills and rocks) and arrive at the Lapham Peak backpack shelter for the bonfire. For those feeling adventurous who would like to camp, space for tents is provided at the shelter.

The hike will take place in the dark, so please bring your headlamp or flashlight. Dress appropriately for the weather and wear comfortable hiking boots. Don’t forget a water bottle and walking stick. Please bring your camping chair and Irish-themed snacks and/or beverages to enjoy around the bonfire. Dogs are welcome but should be on a leash no long than 8 feet and under the owner’s control at all times. Those who plan to camp will need to carry their equipment a short distance from the Tower Parking Lot to the shelter.

Watch for the yellow and black Ice Age Trail event signs to guide you to he parking lot. A Wisconsin annual state parks sticker is required. There are restrooms at the starting location.

An RSVP is required for this hike, as space is limited, especially for tents. Please RSVP to either Becky White or Dave Cheever.
