Waukesha/Milwaukee County Chapter Monches Segment Tyke Hike
June 25, 2015 @ 6:00 pm
Do you know why Wisconsin is the Badger state? How many species of mosquitoes are buzzing around you all summer long? How many cows really live in American’s Dairyland? Come find out, as we explore the animals of Wisconsin. Be sure to dress appropriately for the weather and don’t forget your camera! Dogs are welcome on the Ice Age Trail, but must be on a leash no longer than 6 feet in length, and under the owner’s control at all times.
LOCATION: MONCHES – NORTH SIDE – Click here for driving directions. We’re meeting just outside of the village of Monches. Watch for yellow “Ice Age Trail Event” signs. Roadside parking south of County Line Rd. (CTH-Q) on CTH-E. NO PARKING north of County Line Rd. (CTH-Q) on CTH-K. An off-road parking area is available 0.5 mi east in a DNR parking lot on the north side of County Line Rd. (CTH-Q).
Tyke Hikes are short, slow-paced hikes promoting nature and family hiking in an outdoor educational setting. Families with small children are encouraged to come learn about Wisconsin’s outdoors and experience portions of our treasured Ice Age National Scenic Trail. Each session will begin with a short lesson about a particular natural topic before families head out to explore the trails and enjoy time together. Each hike is scheduled to last approximately one hour in length and between 1 – 1.5 miles. Click here for flyers of 2015 Tyke Hikes.
