Waukesha/Milwaukee Tyke Hike

February 20, 2016 @ 10:00 am - 12:00 pm

Hiking is a year-round activity for the entire family! Join us for an enjoyable winter walk on a paved trail through a spectacular section of forest. Don’t forget your camera! Tell your friends. Dogs are welcome, but must be leashed and under the owner’s control at all times when on the Ice Age Trail.

LOCATION: LAPHAM PEAK UNIT OF SOUTHERN KETTLE MORAINE STATE FOREST, DELAFIELD – Click here for driving directions. Please meet at the Homestead Hollow parking lot. Watch for yellow “Ice Age Trail Event” signs. A Wisconsin state park sticker is required.

Tyke Hikes are short, slow-paced hikes promoting nature and family hiking in an outdoor educational setting. Families with small children are encouraged to come learn about Wisconsin’s outdoors and experience portions of our treasured Ice Age National Scenic Trail. Each session will begin with a short lesson about a particular natural topic before families head out to explore the trails and enjoy time together. Each hike is scheduled to last approximately one hour in length and between 1 – 1.5 miles.
