POSTPONED until further notice. Trailtessa: Be EMPOWERED.

The Ice Age Trail Alliance’s highest priority is the health and well-being of our staff, volunteers, and hiking community during the rapidly evolving health concern of the Coronavirus/COVID-19. The Alliance has been carefully monitoring the pandemic and is using information provided by the World Health Organization, the Centers of Disease Control and Prevention, and the Wisconsin Department of Health Services to inform and develop policies to protect our wider Ice Age Trail community and help prevent the spread of the virus.

In the interest of our attendees and general public we made the difficult decision to postpone this trailbuilding Mobile Skills Crew Project and Trailtessa: Be STRONG event until further notice.  We will update accordingly once plans are in place for a future event.

Be a Trailbuilder. The LaBudde Creek Segment, a quiet gem whose features grow on you with each visit, needs some extra love and attention in 2020. Crews will be building a 150-foot boardwalk and maintaining 3-miles of Trail. All abilities and skill levels are welcome. Tools will be provided along with training by all-female crew leaders and Trail enthusiasts.

Be Crucial. Help clear Trail corridor, build new Trail, paint yellow blazes, and otherwise give “Buddy” the boost it needs to rightfully shine as a quality hiker experience. Photo by Cameron Gillie.

Be Inspired. Besides handily felling trees, chainsaw-certified, Jo, also leads trailbuilding crews, sets rock for retaining walls, constructs boardwalks, and helps lay down new tread.

You’ll work side-by-side with some of the most dedicated Trail enthusiasts you’ll ever meet, chainsaw certified, Joanne Ellarson, and others female, volunteer, crew leaders from around the state. Meals will be provided during the duration of your stay. Camping*, in tandem with the simultaneous Mobile Skills Crew event, is available on Friday, August 21st and Saturday, August 22nd.
