While the City of Delafield prides itself in outdoor recreational opportunities, it also is home to rich history. Hawks Inn & Delafield History Center is a fully restored 1800s stagecoach stop. Take in the period artifacts, and listen to insights and stories from the original diary of Mr. and Mrs. Hawks as shared by your tour guide.

Visitors may also learn about those that served our country at Veteran’s Memorial Riverwalk. Marked with 10 memorial sites honoring veterans from major U.S. conflicts, the walk passes through wooded areas alongside the Bark River and crosses a bridge leading to the Delafield Fish Hatchery. As you reach the western end of the Veterans Memorial Riverwalk, it follows elevated boardwalks through cattails and marshland before ending at Cushing Memorial Park in Delafield where an elaborate wooden playground and restrooms can be found.

While honoring the past, visitors may get a glimpse into the future by taking a campus tour of St. John’s Northwestern Military Academy. Built in 1884, the academy is a private, all-male college preparatory and leadership development school for young men.
