Grab your hiking boots and join the Friends of the Ahnapee State Trail on Saturday, October 5, 2024, for a hike to kick off the 2024 Mammoth Hike Challenge! Led by local members of the Ice Age Trail Alliance, this Algoma hike will earn you five Mammoth Hike Challenge bonus miles, plus miles hiked.

The Hike:

The hike begins at 10:30 a.m. from the Ahnapee State Trailhead at 6th and Perry Streets in Algoma, heading to the CTH M parking lot and back (about 2.8 miles). For those up for a longer trek, there will be an option to continue as far as Blahnik Park and back (about 5.9 miles).

Plus, learn how you can earn a second patch by hiking the 28-plus miles of the Ahnapee State Trail that are also Ice Age Trail!
