Annual Meeting – Washington/Oz Co Chapter
January 11, 2025 @ 10:30 am - 3:00 pm
PURPOSE: An annual meeting is required by the Chapter bylaws. At the annual meeting, Chapter members discuss the activities of the past year, officers for the next year are selected, next year’s budget is approved, and future activities are planned.
LOCATION: Aspen Sky, 860 Enterprise Dr, Slinger. On Highway 60 between Highways 164 and 175, head south on Enterprise Drive until the road ends. Click here for driving directions. Watch for yellow “Ice Age Trail Event” signs.
APPROXIMATE SCHEDULE:
10:30 am to 11 am – Mixer / Social Time
11 am to 12 pm – Guest Speaker
12 pm to 1 pm – Potluck Lunch
1 pm to 3 pm – Chapter Business Meeting
GUEST SPEAKER: Philip Chard will present “Nature’s Ways: Emotional Healing and Spiritual Growth Through Nature Interaction”. Philip is a psychotherapist, writer, trainer and public speaker from Wisconsin. He has written the weekly award-winning newspaper column “Out of My Mind” for the Shepherd Express since 1985. He enjoys being out in nature and hiking, and his new book A Slow Backpacker about his experiences outdoors will be available soon.
LUNCH: After the guest speaker, we will have a potluck lunch featuring chili. Please bring a chili or a dish to pass (appetizers, dessert, snacks). If you have questions about what food item to bring or want suggestions, please contact Judy Rose at judyrose@wi.rr.com. Water will be provided, and other alcoholic and non-alcoholic beverages can be purchased from the Aspen Sky bar. Do NOT bring beverages to share with others as your potluck item. Plates and utensils will be provided by the chapter, but if your dish requires a serving utensil, please bring it along.
EXPECTED MEETING AGENDA ITEMS: Following the guest speaker and lunch there will be a chapter business meeting. The chapter business meeting is expected to include the following topics with additional topics to be determined:
- Reports from treasurer and secretary
- Election of chapter officers
- Discuss 2025 purchases and approve the 2025 chapter budget
- 2024 chapter volunteer activity report
- Set chapter meeting schedule for 2025
- Consider possible large chapter projects / trail improvement activities for 2025
