Chippewa River Segment First Sunday Wildflower Hike – Chippewa Moraine Chapter

May 1, 2022 @ 1:00 pm - 4:00 pm

Free

The Hike:  The wildflowers beckon along the beautiful Chippewa River Segment on the Ice Age Trail.  Join us on a hike through a woods carpeted with spring ephemerals, such as hepatica, trillium, and trout lilies.  The impact of the river is evident, creating a more striking display of spring flowers on this segment than any other Chippewa County IAT segment.  This afternoon ramble on the IAT travels along the Chippewa River, through the Krank Preserve, and across Brunet Island State Park land ending at County Z before we turn around and hike back. (3.8 miles round trip)

Event Details:  Bring along water and be prepared for ticks.  Some sections of the trail may be wet or muddy.

Location Details:  Hikers should meet at 1:00 p.m. at the Ice Age Trail trailhead parking lot, 2 miles north of Hwy. 64 on County Hwy. CC.  There is a large IAT sign at the parking lot.  If you plan to attend, contact Vicki Christianson at chippewamorainechapter@iceagetrail.com
