Cross Plains Hiker Meet-Up and Hike
October 17 @ 8:00 am - 11:00 am
As part of the Mammoth Hike Challenge, join the Dane County Chapter for a casual hiker meet-up and guided hike in the Village of Cross Plains on Sunday, October 17.
Hiker Meet-Up at Crossroads Coffeehouse from 8:00 – 11:00 am.
Hike starts at 9:00 am and will start and end in the parking lot of Crossroads. The hike will be approximately 3-miles, with opportunity to hike more miles on our own. We will be exploring part of the Cross Plains Segment to the north of Highway 14/Main Street. Hikers will enjoy the Hickory Hill Conservation Park, woodlands, the Ice Age Trail Alliance’s Andersen Preserve, a savanna restoration area, along with views to the south and east displaying the “Great Dividing Ridge.”
No RSVP needed for the meet-up. Stop by anytime to say hello, ask questions, and get maps, brochures and Trail Community itineraries. After the hike, enjoy local dining options in the Cross Plains area. Download the custom itinerary for Cross Plains HERE.
This event is in partnership with the Mammoth Hike Challenge sponsored by Travel Wisconsin and Duluth Trading Company. Hike 41 miles on the Ice Age Trail during the month of October 2021 and support at least three of our Trail Communities to earn a hiking certificate and a limited-edition patch celebrating the Challenge. You may hike, walk, run, or backpack – whatever suits your lifestyle – and log your miles over days, weekends, weeks, or one big adventure. You have the entire month of October to do it!
