Dane County Chapter Evening Hike, Basco
March 26 @ 6:15 pm - 8:30 pm
We will hike a section of the Ice Age Trail on an old railroad grade now shared with the Badger State Trail. We’ll go to Purcell Road and back, a distance of no more than six miles. This means a flat trail on packed limestone, with no effort to control the invasives along it. It also will show you how truly dull and ugly the trail would be without a scenically designed trail layout and no invasives species control! Maybe it will inspire you to help us do better, or at least encourage you to wet your whistle at Dot’s Tavern afterwards. Park along Henry Rd near the trail junction, about 0.2 miles east of Highway 69. If you are interested in a shorter hike, you could leave a bike or car at the Purcell Rd lot.
