Dane County Chapter – Goat Prairie Brush Clearing

August 18 @ 9:00 am - 3:00 pm

We are going to continue weeding the remnant prairies and oak savanna on Center Bluff in the Lodi Marsh State Wildlife Area.  We will scan for Japanese Hedge Parsley in the woods and remove the remaining wild parsnip, mullein, and curly dock from the prairies.  We will also continue cutting the re-sprouting sumac and other shrubs in the two remnant prairies.

We have a variety of tasks to do to clean the prairies and oak savannas of the invasive weeds. Help us continue our work of improving these prairie and oak savanna restoration areas and enjoy the blooming native prairie flowers while we do so.

I will have herbicide, parsnip predators, loppers, and brush cutters. I will bring some food and drink to share.

Bring plenty of water and food for yourself along with work gloves and a sun hat.
