Dane County Chapter – Land Stewardship

May 22, 2021 @ 9:00 am - 5:00 pm

May is the month or so we have to control and reduce garlic mustard, burdock, Dame’s Rocket, Japanese Hedge Parsley, and other herbaceous weeds that are invading our oak woodlands.  Our preferred method to control these invasives is by herbiciding the plants that have not been killed by our spring burns.  We do this work using back pack sprayers to apply a combination of glyphosate and triclopyr.  On each of the weekends and some weekdays of May we will scan our various preserves searching for the plants we want to eliminate. We plan to work in Prairie Moraine County Park. No prior experience is required to do this work.

Please RSVP to confirm that you can help, to make sure we have enough equipment. Gary Werner 608-249-2421 home
