Dane County Chapter – Piller Road Woods Restoration
December 11 @ 9:30 am - 2:30 pm
Over the 10 years this portion of Montrose trail has been present, the woods has been filling in with honeysuckle, buckthorn, and recently maple trees. We will continue efforts to cut fallen trees into smaller pieces and move fallen branches onto new brush piles. If you have a chainsaw and PPE, please bring it. I will provide herbicide and loppers.
Please bring work gloves and wear long sleeves to protect against the brush. If you need work gloves or protective eye glasses, let me know. If you like the warmth of a fire, you should be wearing wool or cotton as an outer layer. Fleece and synthetics will melt as a spark hit them. A sweatshirt on top of these will provide good protection.
If we have a crowd, we may park some cars at the Frenchtown parking lot.
Please bring drinking water and some lunch. I will provide some food to share for lunch.
