Dane County Chapter – Trail Improvement

May 30 @ 9:00 am - 5:00 pm

This Sunday May 30th — Gary Werner and I will be having a workday in the Lodi Marsh State Wildlife Area.

This will be a two-pronged effort with the land stewardship work, while at the same time, we would like to continue work widening a corridor to relocate the Ice Age Trail from the chronically wet area in the meadow east of Center Bluff, at the end of the drumlin, to a more sustainable location.  By removing honeysuckle and other shrubs, we hope to open up the area, promote drying of the land and prepare for a re-route that is anticipated to occur next year. There will also be a need for certified chainsawers.

Please let either Gary Werner or myself know if you can help us with any of these activities on Sunday.  No prior experience is required to do this work, but I need to know who can help so that we have enough backpack sprayers, loppers, and saws to use.
