We will begin the process of clearing cedars and invasive shrubs near Lodi Springfield Road north of the Twin Pines lot, (map/directions), where we’ll meet.  One ultimate goal is  to open a view of the marsh from the trail traversing the ridge to the east.  The other is to uncover and restore native savanna remnants.   This workday will concentrate on starting brush piles in places where desirable native species are absent, something we won’t be able to determine during our upcoming winter workdays here.  There will be plenty of work for chain and hand sawyers, as well as for those willing to haul and pile the slash.
