Family Day Hike

West Bend Segment

Join us for a Family Day Hike on the West Bend Segment of the Ice Age National Scenic Trail. We’d love to see many families come out and enjoy an afternoon together on the trail. The kid-friendly, shorter loop hike of approximately 1.5 miles will take place entirely within Ridge Run Park.  Hike leaders will identify various plant species along the way.

LOCATION: Meet at the lower parking lot (near Wells Lake) in Ridge Run Park, off S. University Drive, West Bend. Click here for driving directions. Watch for yellow “Ice Age Trail Event” signs.

HIKE DESCRIPTION: The kid-friendly hike will start from the trailhead sign on the north side of the lower parking lot.  It will head north from the parking lot on the Ice Age Trail to the edge of Ridge Run Park. It will then return along a social trail in the park for a total distance of about 1.5 miles.

WHAT TO BRING: Wear comfortable hiking boots and dress appropriately for the weather. Bring water and insect repellant.
