Hiking the Ice Age National Trail – Verona Trail Community Event

October 7 @ 6:30 pm - 7:30 pm

Ice Age Trail Alliance, Ice Age National Scenic Trail, Verona Segment, Hiker, Fall, Winter

Join the Ice Age Trail Alliance and the Verona Public Library for this introductory presentation to the Ice Age National Scenic Trail.

The Ice Age National Scenic Trail is a thousand-mile footpath that highlights the glacial landscape features as it travels through some of Wisconsin’s most beautiful natural areas. However, it is more than just a path through the woods. It is a place for mental and physical rejuvenation, a place to unwind after a hard day and enjoy the landscape of Wisconsin. More than 2.5 million people use the Trail each year to hike, snowshoe, and backpack, to disconnect and reconnect.

Registration is required as there is limited seating. The presentation will also be live-streamed on the Library’s YouTube page. Please register at the Verona Public Library’s website HERE.

Join Melissa Pierick and Amy Lord with the Ice Age Trail Alliance to learn more about the Ice Age Trail and the Mammoth Hike Challenge taking place in October. This overview presentation will introduce the Trail, its history, significance and story, share resources to plan your journey and helpful information suited to scratch that hiking itch.

Thursday, October 7th

6:30 – 7:30 p.m.

Verona Public Library Community Room

Verona is an Ice Age Trail Community, a program designed as a symbiotic relationship between the Ice Age Trail Alliance (IATA) and communities near the Trail which enhances awareness of the Ice Age National Scenic Trail (IANST) and improves the quality of life in communities throughout Wisconsin. Before the presentation, enjoy local businesses and eateries in and around Verona.
