Ice Override Preserve Trailbuilding Project- Langlade County Chapter
November 4 - November 5

Help Build Nearly One Mile of Brand-New Trail in Langlade County!
In 2021, the Ice Age Trail Alliance purchased a 44.5-acre property that showcases where the older Hancock Moraine was overridden by the later Almond Moraine, leaving behind high-relief glacial terrain. Now, it’s time to build Ice Age Trail and open this property to the public!
Join the small, but mighty, Langlade County Chapter to help clear brush and craft tread alongĀ the Alliance-owned Ice Override Preserve south of Antigo, an Ice Age Trail Community. These efforts will result in 1 mile of NEW blazed Trail and shortening an adjacent road walk.
What: Help clear brush, build a retaining wall, and craft tread.
No experience? No problem! We’ll train you.
A completed volunteer form, signed by the NPS, is required for this event. Details can be found, here.
When: Saturday, November 4 through Sunday, November 5, 8:30 a.m. – 3:30 p.m. Feel free to come for one day or both. Camping is available for this project.
Where: Park off the road on Old 26, watch for the “Ice Age Trail Event” signs. View Google Map, here.
What to wear: long pants and sleeves, bug repellent, sunscreen, sturdy hiking or work boots.
What to bring: water bottle and extra water, breakfast, lunch, and snacks. We will provide dinner Saturday night! If you have your own loppers or shovel, these would be helpful. We’ll have some trailbuilding tools.
