Farm Technology Days – Food Tent Volunteer

Do you enjoy a fun, fast-paced environment, grilling brats, and talking about the Ice Age Trail with people who’ve never heard about it? Then volunteering during Farm Technology Days is just the event for you!
To successfully run the Food Tent, up to 35 volunteers are needed daily July 23, 24, and 25. Duties include grill-masters, food prep, cash register operators, ‘runners’, greeters, and general cleanup – something for everyone!
Farm Technology Days for the IATA is as much about the income earning potential, as it is about outreach to an audience which may not be familiar with us. Farm Technology Days this year will be located outside of Johnson Creek in Jefferson County.
This event takes place Tuesday, July 23 through Thursday, July 25. Your contribution is welcome for any part of the event or the entire project. If you are interested in helping for multiple days, we have secured tent camping and RV parking space at the nearby River Bend RV Park about 8 miles from Tent City. Camping reservations are required and are available as part of the registration process.
We will need help with our food tent setup and organizing on Monday for anyone interested in arriving early.
Shifts are available for each day, morning and afternoon, with overlap during the 10am to 2pm lunch hour. We may also be asked to operate the breakfast shift in our tent, so if early morning is your thing, we may have that available too! Duties include; grill-masters, food prep, cash register operators, ‘runners’, greeters, and general cleanup.
All Food Tent volunteers are required to have taken a food safety course. If you live within 60 miles of Johnson Creek, an in-person, one hour training is required. For others, our online course is acceptable if completed within the past 12 months. Information will be available soon for the online course offered by the IATA.
