Description
Thanks for your help and Happy Winter!
What to Bring
If you are interested in cutting brush by hand, you should have long pants, a long-sleeve shirt, gloves and sturdy boots. If you have your favorite hearing protection, bring that, or we have foam earplugs to use around power equipment. If there is snow on the ground, we will likely be burning slash piles – please do not wear flammable synthetic outer clothing – wool or cotton clothing as an outer layer is better to avoid embers burning holes in your nice gear. Bring whatever water and food you want for the day. Sunscreen is optional but advised (insect repellent not needed this time of the year)!
RSVP
You must RSVP with the work day organizer (listed below) so we have enough equipment and we can make sure all volunteers for the day have up-to-date information about meeting location.
Volunteer Service Agreement
If you’re joining us for the first time at an event, please complete the fill-able Volunteer Services Agreement Form and email it (along with any questions) to Dan Watson, (Daniel_Watson@nps.gov). You should also complete the form if you don’t have a Volunteer Services Agreement Form on file, or completed one prior to January 2022.
Additional information for first-time volunteers.
Email Updates:
If you are interested in volunteering regularly, request to be added to our email group. Contact Megan Schliesman (schliesfrau@gmail.com) and ask to be added to our Stewardship list. (Note: Megan cannot answer questions about workdays; she coordinates the list, not workdays.) Emails sent on the listserv will contain all the details for a workday, and you should contact the listed leader for any given workday with questions.)
