The Marathon County Chapter has added a trail layout and design element to the Geology Hike scheduled for Saturday August 13th.

Plans are for Tim Malzhan, Alliance director of Field Operations to lead us on a walk and talk along the proposed reroute for portions of the Ringle Segment. After walking the proposed reroute (the flag line) we’ll return to our starting point via existing Ice Age Trail. Focus will include the reasons for the proposed reroute, “pinch points’ and desirable features along the route.

We’ll meet at 9:00am at the Poplar Lane trailhead. (Please use this link for driving directions) Participants should come prepared for bushwhacking and a relatively long hike. Bring plenty of water and packable snacks. We will probably be out well into the afternoon!

Afterwards, we’ll gather at a local (TBD) eatery. It will be an interesting, fun and relatively challenging hike!
