Trail Adopter Training – Indianhead Chapter
May 19 @ 6:00 pm - 8:00 pm
Are you a current Trail Adopter or someone who has considered helping us out with monitoring and maintaining the Ice Age Trail in Polk and Burnett counties?
If you are, please join us for our “social distancing” training session where we will be demonstrating the signage and trail maintenance standards. Anyone who may be interested in this volunteer opportunity is welcome to join us. We will have some time to get to know eachother and share what our trail adopters do. This is a very important role and requires some physical labor and the willingness to comply with signage and trail construction standards. There will be time to provide training on the proper carrying, use and storage of tools and machines that are used for trail maintenance. Everyone is welcome!
LOCATION: We will meet at the Chapter’s ICE shed located at 2918 140th Street in Frederic, about one mile south of County Rd W and three miles north of Hwy 48. Click here for driving directions. Watch for yellow Ice Age Trail Event signs.
WHAT TO BRING: Please bring a lawn chair because there is no other available seating and a beverage. We will be providing paper plates and pizza. We are asking for everyone’s protection to wear a mask.
COVID-19 RISK MITIGATION ACTIONS: Social distancing will be practiced. We will follow all the other risk mitigation actions recommended by the National Park Service in the COVID-19 JHA.
NOTE: If this is your first time volunteering with the Ice Age Trail Alliance, please click on this Volunteer Service Agreement and bring it along. We will have extras at the training session.
