RECONNECT: Blue Hills Chapter – Creating Passable Trail in Rusk County

Ice Age Trail, Ice Age National Scenic Trail, Reconnect, Trail Improvement Days

We are joining forces with the Blue Hills and Chippewa Moraine Chapters to mow and make more passable, the Ice Age Trail through the Blue Hills.

Crews of 2-3 will fan out to mow, brush back the Trail, and improve signage. Tools, equipment, and PPE will be provided.

Bring your own food and water and camping equipment. There will be no base camp, but there are numerous campgrounds in the area and the County Forest is open for dispersed camping.

When: Thursday, July 9 and Friday, July 10; 9:00 AM – 4:00 PM (each day).

What to expect/what to bring/what to wear:

  • We will have a physically-distanced, COVID-aware work site;
  • Tools, equipment, and PPE will be provided;
  • Bring your own food and water and camping equipment;
  • boots preferred; closed-toe shoes and socks required;
  • long pants;
  • long or short-sleeved shirt (bring both);
  • leather work gloves;
  • hat (optional);
  • leather work gloves;
  • hand sanitizer;
  • sunscreen and bug spray.
