Trail Corridor Clearing – Ice Age Complex

Project Description: Help clear corridors for new hiking trails on the Cross Plains State Park and National Park Service lands at the Ice Age Complex along Old Sauk Pass Rd.
Project Time: Sunday Oct. 8 9:00 am – 1:00 pm (feel free to leave early if needed, but best if you can arrive for 9:00 start so that you can get tools and find us out in the woods)
Project Site Address: 4166 North Birch Trl, Cross Plains, WI 53528
Volunteer Meeting Location: Near 4166 North Birch Trail, Cross Plains 53528. Meet in cul-de-sac at south end of North Birch Trail (0.4 mile south of intersection with Old Sauk Pass Rd.). There is no parking lot – park along side of this very quiet road. From Hwy 14 turn onto Stagecoach Rd., then immediately go south on N. Birch Trail for 1.2 miles.
Minimum age of Volunteers: 12+ with adult supervision
Instructions and notes: Wear work clothes and tough shoes, bring your own leather work gloves (or we will have some to lend). Dress in layers; good to also bring water bottle and a snack (we will have extra water). Feel free to bring or share a small daypack, sunscreen, hat. We will supply all needed hand tools; larger bushes and downed trees will be cut by certified chain sawyers. No rain in the forecast but if there is threat of rain we will still work.
