Trailbuilding: Old Sauk Pass Rd, Dane County

May 8 @ 9:00 am - 4:00 pm

Help construct a new section of trail on DNR property along Old Sauk Pass Rd (Cross Plains State Park).   The new trail will provide a gorge crossing on the north side of the road, creating an important link in the larger (and growing) trail system at this important Ice Age site.  Volunteers of all abilities are welcome!  We provide the tools and instruction – just bring your willing selves, preferably wearing boots and work clothes (multiple layers including a rain coat – we keep working if it is only lightly sprinkling).  Also bring leather work gloves, a water bottle and a pack lunch.  Work will start at 9:00am and continue through mid-afternoon, but you can optionally join in for just a few hours if that better fits your schedule (but we won’t run out of things to do!).  Address any questions to Andrew Bent, [email protected] or 608-333-9896.  Preferably RSVP to [email protected] so we can plan accordingly, but drop-ins also welcome.

Location:

Park in the Dane County Parks lot 0.4 mi west of Timber Lane on Old Sauk Pass Rd.
