Trailwide DNR Fire Field Day

What: Training event to become a certified wildland firefighter type 2 (FFT2) in accordance with the
National Wildfire Coordinating Group (NWCG) standards. Coursework includes
IS-100: Introduction to the Incident Command System
S130: Firefighter Training (includes L-180)
S-190: Introduction to Wildland Fire Behavior
IS-700: Introduction to the National Incident Management System
Who: Participants who wish to establish foundational knowledge in wildland fire suppression and/or
prescribed fire applications. This training is a minimum qualification required by many non-profit, local,
state and federal agencies that perform wildland fire operations.
o Field Day exercises will include gaining experience using handtools, hoselays, firefighting
apparatus and a live-fire exercise if suitable conditions exist.
o Students must have completed ALL the online components of the training BEFORE the
field day.
When: Due to the large amount of content delivered electronically, plan accordingly to avoid last-minute cramming sessions. Spread the work around and you will retain information better and be better
prepared for the field day. Online coursework must be completed PRIOR to the mandatory field day.

Cost: Attendees are asked to participate in 2 SNA volunteer work days during 2020. Typically this course costs $200-$300 per person, what a deal!!
