This Land is Your Land Hike
September 29, 2018 @ 9:00 am - 2:00 pm
“THIS LAND IS YOUR LAND!” ALMOST-10-MILE HIKE on the ICE AGE TRAIL
Saturday, Sept. 29 at 9 AM — Rice Lake Boat Launch area off State Park Road
This will be a good hike for those wishing to test their stamina on a variety of scenic — and rugged — terrains! Shuttle cars will be on-hand at road crossings to drive tired hikers back from the 2.3 mile and 4.2 mile points, and from the end point (8.8 miles) at the Oleson Cabin on Duffin Road. If desired, arrangements can be made for those wanting a longer hike. Long pants, sturdy shoes, a hat, bug spray, water, and a snack are strongly recommended. A state parks sticker is required for parking.
This annual “This Land is Your Land” hike is in recognition of National Public Lands Day — and sponsored by the Whitewater Tourism Council and the Walworth/Jefferson County Chapter of the Ice Age Trail Alliance. For more information, please contact hike leader Andy Whitney at 262-949-0286.
The cabin will be open for casual touring at the end of the hike.
