Washington/Ozaukee County Chapter Trail Improvement
July 23 @ 5:30 pm
Event details: We will be working between Hwy 167 and Shannon Road to open up the trail corridor by lopping branches and cutting back overgrowth around posts and along the trail. Due to erosion, we will be reconstructing parts of the tread to make it more sustainable.
- We recommend a long-sleeve shirt, pants and hat for trail work.
- Plan for variable weather – bring several layers of clothing and rain gear if the weather is questionable.
- Sturdy hiking or work boots (no tennis shoes) and leather work gloves.
- A bottle of water, backpack, insect repellent, sunscreen
No previous experience is necessary; training is provided by certified volunteer crew leaders. There will be roles for all ages and abilities. Tools will be provided.
If this is your first time volunteering for the Ice Age Trail Alliance, or you haven’t filled out a 301a Volunteer Agreement form, please download the form and bring it with you to the workday.
An RSVP to Dave Nelsen by July 22nd so he can better plan for this project, would be appreciated.
Location details: Please meet at the Shannon Road parking lot in Hartford. Click here for directions to the meeting location. Watch for yellow “Ice Age Trail Event” signs.
