Washington/Ozaukee County Chapter – Trail Improvement Work Day – Holy Hill Segment

What: We will split into several groups. One group will replace or widen the “bridge” over the Stationway ditch. Another group will work on stepping stones in several gullies and the third group will work on buckthorn removal and trimming back overgrowth.
When & Where: Meet at 5 PM in the Stationway parking lot just off Holy Hill Road. Click here for driving directions. GPS coordinates 43.398078, -88.210718. Watch for yellow “Ice Age Trail Event” signs.
What to Bring: We recommend wearing a long-sleeve shirt, pants, and hat for trail work. Bring a face mask or face covering in case it is necessary to work closely with others. Sturdy hiking or work boots and leather work gloves are also recommended for some tasks. You may also want to bring a bottle of water, backpack, insect repellent, and sunscreen.
COVID-19 RISK MITIGATION ACTIONS: Social distancing will be practiced, with volunteers spread out at different locations on the trail. Face masks will be required if working in close proximity to other individuals on the same task. We will follow all the other risk mitigation actions recommended by the National Park Service in the COVID-19 JHA.
