Waukesha/Milwaukee Chapter Tyke Hike

March 14, 2020 @ 10:00 am - 12:00 pm

Free

Come on a Tyke Hike to explore Wisconsin’s own Ice Age National Scenic Trail!  We will explore the Monches Segment of the Trail, traveling through hardwood forest and along the Oconomowoc River

Tyke Hikes are short, slow-paced hikes focused on exploration, discovery, service opportunities and natural play.  They last approximately 1-2 hours and can cover up to 1.5 miles. Tyke Hikes are led by Peter Dargatz, a forest kindergarten teacher and Ice Age Trail volunteer. Most hikes include a picture book story and/ educational materials as well as certificates for children. Families will also receive a “nature challenge” activity to do until the next hike.

All families are welcome. Hikers should wear clothing and shoes/boots appropriate to hiking and the weather. Water is recommended. Come “get lost in the right direction” with us!
