Waukesha/Milwaukee County Chapter – Wee Walkers

March 5, 2022 @ 9:00 am - 11:00 am

Hartland became Wisconsin’s first Ice Age Trail Community in 2015, and this walking club was formed to bring people–both adults and “Wee Walkers”–together to enjoy the trail, community, and each other. This March, get outside with your kids and enjoy watching them march to the beat of their own drums. Join the “Wee Walkers” for this month’s hike designed especially for tykes. We’d love to have you join us for a walk!

The Walk:

Starting at the Cottonwood Wayside, we will complete the beautiful 1.2 mile loop trail through the Ice Age Marsh. We will move at a “toddler pace,” exploring and enjoying our surroundings as we walk. Recommended for ages 2-8, but all ages are welcome (kids must be accompanied by an adult). Walks are led by 4-year-old Simon, 2-year-old Ophelia, and their mom, Christina, a volunteer on the Village of Hartland’s Ice Age Trail Community Committee (and kid at heart).  Check their Facebook page for updates.

This is an easy hike and will last approximately two hours. Participants can elect to head back to the starting point at any time. Dogs must be leashed. Dress for the weather and plan to walk through snow, ice, rain, and mud. If the wind chill is below zero or conditions are unsafe we will cancel. Christina Callies and the Hartland Recreation Department organized this hike. Register in advance (to ensure that you receive notification in the event this hike is postponed or canceled) or simply show up at the Cottonwood Wayside. There is no fee for this activity.

Park at the Cottonwood Wayside lot. We will meet at the picnic shelter.
