Waukesha/Milwaukee Chapter Stoney Ridge Evening Hike and Bonfire

FreeJoin us for an evening hike of wooded eskers athere nd grassy savannas (out and back about 4 miles) and a bonfire to follow at Ice Age Trail backpack shelter #2. Part of the hike will take place after dark, so bring your headlamp or flashlight. Please dress appropriately for the weather and wear comfortable hiking boots and bring water. If there is snow or ice, consider wearing snowshoes or Yaktrax. Don’t forget your camping chair and snacks or beverages to enjoy around the fire. Dogs are welcome, but must be on a leash no longer than 8 feet and under the owner’s control at all times.
Meet at the Southern Kettle Moraine DNR Headquarters located on Hwy 59 3 miles South of the town of Eagle. Watch for the yellow and black Ice Age Trail Event signs to guide you to the parking lot. A Wisconsin annual state park sticker is not required. The backpack shelter is just a short hike from the parking lot at the headquarters. The DNR office has a restroom but they may be closed by the time we start hiking so please plan accordingly.
