Waukesha/Milwaukee Chapter Workday

November 5, 2016 @ 9:00 am - 12:00 pm

Please join us as we continue our buckthorn removal at Hartland Marsh. Thanks to all who came out last time, we made real progress! Our project is to cut saplings, pull out seedlings and treat stumps. We will be working on John Muir Island-where efforts to restore the marsh began in 2000 led by Marlin Johnson.

Participants should wear gloves, eye protection, long-sleeved shirts and long pants and bug net or spray. Please bring brush cutters and chainsaws if you have them (chainsaw users must be certified). The IAT will provide loppers and handsaws, and the Buckthorn Man will bring cookies.

We will meet at the Cottonwood Gazebo just south of Lindenwood Dr. on Cottonwood Ave. in Hartland. We will work from 9 a.m. til noon, but, as always, participants are welcome to bring lunch and continue working with the Buckthorn Man in the afternoon.
