Waukesha/Milwaukee County Chapter First-Day Hike
January 1, 2015 @ 11:00 am
What better way to ring in 2015? Join the friendly folks from the IATA’s Waukesha/Milwaukee County Chapter for a snowshoe hike on the Ice Age Trail at Lapham Peak.
We’ll meet at the Hausmann Nature Center parking lot before embarking on a 3- to 4-mile snowshoe hike. After the hike we’ll congregate at the beautiful Hausmann Center for beverages, snacks, and more good times. Feel free to pack a lunch and stay awhile.
We will offer four hikes, beginning at 11:00, that will leave in 15-minute increments.
We will have nine pairs of adult snowshoes for people to borrow on a first come/first serve basis. Wheel & Sprocket, just inside the park near the Evergreen Grove Shelter, rents snowshoes. Dogs are welcome, but they must be leashed and under the owner’s control at all times at Lapham Peak.
Wisconsin State Park entry fee is waived for this event!
