Waukesha/Milwaukee County Chapter Meeting
February 19, 2015 @ 7:00 pm
Please join us to find out what is new with the Ice Age National Scenic Trail.
Barb Eisenberg will be our guest speaker. She has been interested in environmental issues since she was a child growing up in north suburban Chicago, picking up litter along the bike path behind her house. In April 2013 Barb was elected as a delegate to the Wisconsin Conservation Congress (WCC), a citizen advisory body to the DNR and the Natural Resources Board. The WCC is a volunteer organization created in 1934 by the State Conservation Commission (predecessor to the Natural Resources Board). For 80 years it has been representing outdoorsmen in Wisconsin, but do they represent you? How many delegates are in the Congress? How are they elected? What is the organizational structure of the Congress?
If you arrive early, feel free to check out the variety of hiking/skiing trails, 45-foot observation tower, or Evergreen Grove Shelter. If you would like to be a greeter for this meeting, please contact Kris. It requires arriving by 6:30 pm.
Following our meeting, we will have a short social, which will include snacks and beverages. Feel free to bring something to share. Everyone is welcome!
Location: Homestead Hollow Trecker Lodge at Lapham Peak in Delafield.
