Waukesha/Milwaukee County Chapter Tyke Hike

April 18, 2015 @ 10:00 am

Marshes play a pivotal role in Wisconsin’s history, and are essential to our future. The diverse plant and animal life in this unique habitat is spectacular! Come meander in the marsh! A representative from the Delafield Public Library will be reading 2-3 books on Wisconsin marsh life. Families will also have an opportunity to check out books from the library if they wish to take them home. Crafts and a song for the little ones will be part of the day, too. Don’t forget your camera!

LOCATION: HARTLAND SEGMENT – Please meet at the parking lot where Maple Avenue (Cty E) and Hartwood Lane intersect in Hartland. Click here for driving directions. Watch for yellow “Ice Age Trail” Event signs to guide you to the meeting place

Tyke Hikes are short, slow-paced hikes promoting nature and family hiking in an outdoor educational setting. Families with small children are encouraged to come learn about Wisconsin’s outdoors and experience portions of our treasured Ice Age National Scenic Trail. Each session will begin with a short lesson about a particular natural topic before families head out to explore the trails and enjoy time together. Each hike is scheduled to last approximately one hour in length and between 1 – 1.5 miles. Click here to download the 2015 Tyke Hikes flyer.
