The Parnell Segment is somewhat challenging; parts of the Trail in this area can be steep and a rocky tread can lead to unsure footing. This section of the Parnell Segment will take us along some of the four-mile-long Parnell Esker. One of the most striking and world-famous collections of kames in the world is found near the area between the trail and Hwy 67.

The Waterville Segment is a gently rolling, easy to moderate hike. Waukesha/Milwaukee Chapter Fall Mid-Week Hike: Monches Segment & Oconomowoc River Conservancy ParkWAMI, Monches Segment 5J6V+H2, Hartland, Wisconsin
A mature maple forest is the setting for much of the Monches Segment. The approximately 25-acre Oconomowoc River Conservancy Park provides passive recreational activities such as walking, hiking, skiing, wildlife observation and bird watching. It has been developed through a partnership between the Town of Merton and the Tall Pines Conservancy.
