The Ice Age Trail Alliance takes pride in hiring high-quality, motivated individuals dedicated to conserving, creating, maintaining and promoting the Ice Age Trail. Our headquarters, located in Cross Plains, Wisconsin, are a center for collaboration among staff and volunteers.

We’re Hiring! Two Positions Listed Below:

PROPERTY STEWARD* 

We’re looking for someone who can:

  • Meet and greet land owners who host the Ice Age Trail
  • Embrace sun, wind, heat, and cold while walking property boundaries
  • Manage time and details, balancing office work with time in the field
  • Write, and act on, property management plans
  • Wield handsaws, brush cutters, or chainsaws (there’s training for this)
  • Comfortably drive a pickup truck and other vehicles

Compensation: Anticipated salary range $38,000 – $42,000 commensurate with experience. The Alliance offers fully paid premiums for employee’s health insurance, dental coverage, and a 403b program.

PHILANTHROPIC COORDINATOR

We’re looking for someone who can:

  • Enthusiastically describe Alliance initiatives in funding requests
  • Seek out new funding sources while expanding corporate partnerships
  • Manage grants from application through reporting process
  • Confidently speak in public, representing the Alliance
  • Design, implement, and host public events

Location and Travel: Position is office-based with opportunities to work remotely and will require some travel, primarily within Wisconsin. Overnight travel should be anticipated, including weekends.

Compensation: Anticipated salary range $48,000 – $52,000 commensurate with experience. The Alliance offers fully paid premiums for employee’s health insurance, dental coverage, and a 403b program.

Start date: January 2022

Internships

We believe in helping the next generation of conservationists gain valuable experience in recreation, land preservation and the nonprofit industry. Unpaid internships are available in our Lands, Trail, and Outreach and Education program areas, usually beginning in the spring.
