“If you know how to read the landscape, the Ice Age Trail can tell the story of how Wisconsin came to be. It is a story of mountain ranges, erupting volcanoes, massive glaciers, and torrents of rushing water bursting through ice and rock dams creating huge floods.” ~ Dr. David Mickelson

Enjoy a magical experience – four days of leisurely hikes along the Ice Age National Scenic Trail, one of eleven National Scenic Trails in the country. You will be able to immerse yourself in a unique setting, with unprecedented access to renowned experts on the Ice Age Trail.

You will gain new insights into Wisconsin’s geologic past with noted geologist and author, Dr. David Mickelson, as your guide. Discover the significance of the crucial players in this great story, the world-class landforms: moraines, drumlins, moulin kames, kettles, eskers and glacial lake bed.

Your Trail experience will be meaningfully enhanced, now and into the future, with a new understanding and appreciation of the terrain you are traveling.

As an added bonus, seasoned guide, Dolly McNulty, and the creative genius behind the innovative ColdCaching Program will share how this award-winning recreational activity will allow you to explore geologic features on your own.

Bring binoculars for spotting birds and other wildlife who make their home in this lush habitat.

Bring your camera for capturing simply scenic views along remarkable glacial formations.

Bring a journal for recording fresh perspectives, profound thoughts, or the artistic urge which will surely emerge.
