Welcome! We are the Lakeshore Chapter. We are a fun and energetic bunch of people dedicated to maintaining 182.7 miles (the most of any chapter!) of the Ice Age National Scenic Trail across five counties: Fond du Lac, Sheboygan, Manitowoc, Kewaunee and Door Counties. We take pride in the outstanding quality and conditions of the Trail segments we manage.
We regularly sponsor Trail Improvement Days and welcome your involvement – there are tasks for every skill and ability, so don’t be shy. Bring your friends and family and make a day of it! Friendship, laughter, exercise, and a sense of purpose can’t be beat! Check out our events calendar (search Lakeshore Chapter).
We also love to play on the Ice Age Trail segments we maintain and we warmly invite you to join our outings! We offer a wide variety of hikes for nearly every interest with the most popular, our Full Moon Hikes (bring a headlamp!), along the shores of Lake Michigan. Check out our events calendar (search Lakeshore Chapter).
An activity designed to enhance your hiking experience and take it another level is Coldcaching, an award winning inspiration of one of our members, Dolly McNulty. ColdCaching is an exciting way to explore and learn about the many natural features along the Ice Age Trail. It’s a family-friendly activity allowing you to experience the thrill of a treasure hunt, learn important navigational skills and develop an appreciation for Wisconsin’s fascinating Ice Age history.
