March Full Moon Hike – Lodi Valley Chapter

March 7, 2023 @ 7:30 pm - 8:30 pm

The Hike:

Greetings Trail Friends and all you walkers, hikers, saunterers, runners, gawkers, and plodders!
This month we will venture out onto the Lodi Marsh Segment of the Ice Age Trail for a spectacular evening walking under the crow moon!
We will walk up to the prairie for a good look at the moon rising in the east.
The Full Worm Moon was given its name by the Algonquin tribes from New England to Lake Superior. At the time of this spring moon the ground begins to soften and earthworm castings reappear inviting the return of robins.  This full moon is also known as the crow moon, the crust moon, the sugar moon, the sap moon, and the lenten moon.
We may need to rely on flashlights and headlamps by the end of the hike as the sun sets. Please wear appropriate clothing for the weather and bring along a flashlight or headlamp.  Well behaved, leashed dogs are always welcome. Due to possible slick conditions walking sticks are recommended. We will have extra available for you to use.
